  • Youth Workshops for Ages 12-17

  • Dates: Thursdays, (February 10, 17, 24) from 4pm - 7pm

  • Adult Workshops for ages 18+

  • Dates: Saturdays, (February 12, 19, 26) from 2pm - 5pm

The Neighborhood Theatre Project is a collaboration between More Más Marami Arts, the School of Arts & Culture, and AACI's Youth Technology Incubator that invites the community to use art and theatre to explore community issues in the world of COVID. We will be conducting arts workshops for participants to explore and discuss issues like access to health and public resources.

Combined with in-depth interviews with community members, the workshops will serve as a foundation for new plays written by local playwrights (in collaboration with community members). The new plays will provide a roadmap for audience members to address community issues.

The workshops will use a mix of art forms (i.e.theatre, poetry, journaling, and drawing) to explore topics such as health, neighborhood resiliency, and community resources. The workshops will take place on Thursdays and Saturdays in February, depending on the age group.

WORKSHOP LOCATION:
The Mexican Heritage Plaza 1700 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA 95116.
