Celebrate the elegance and tradition of Día de los Muertos by joining our Catrina/Catrín Costume Contest.










Who Can Enter
Open to anyone 18 and older.
Minors are welcome but must be accompanied by a participating adult.
You may enter solo or as a couple (judged together).
Costumes must represent La Catrina, El Catrín, or Día de los Muertos themes.
How to Enter
Only 10 contestants will be accepted.
Please arrive at 5:00 PM to register at the Catrina/Catrín Booth in the Garden by the pond area.
At registration, you will receive a contestant number (1–10) and sign a photo/video release waiver.
Costume & Makeup Guidelines
Costumes should reflect traditional Catrina/Catrín style:
Elegant attire
Skull makeup (required – no masks allowed)
Accessories such as hats, fans, flowers, or canes
Creative, handmade designs are highly encouraged.
No weapons of any kind (real or prop) are allowed.
Judging for top 10 contestants and costumes will be evaluated on:
Creativity
Authenticity
Craftsmanship
Presentation
On Contest Day
Arrive at the stage 15 minutes before showtime with full costume and makeup ready.
You will be notified by text before going on stage.
Photos and videos will be taken and may be featured on our website or social media
All attendees are invited to vote for their favorite costume using a QR code available at the event.
Tie-breakers
Tie-breakers will be decided by the contest coordinator. Voting will be done via QR code provided at the event.
Prizes
Prizes will be announced at the event.
Conduct
All participants are expected to be respectful. Inappropriate behavior or breaking contest rules may result in disqualification.
