Roberto Romo is a Bay Area Artist born in Jalostotitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. At age six, he arrived in the United States with a passion for drawing and painting. Roberto later continued his Art studies at Evergreen Valley College under the direction of Barbara Bouchard. After completing his Art and Design Degree, he attended The Academy Of Art University in San Francisco, where he completed a BFA in Illustration. In 2015, he was named the up-and-coming Art Laureate for his series of 54 Paintings of the Mexican Loteria game and was a featured Artist in CONTENT Magazine. Additionally, Roberto adventured into a Graphic Designer career for a local publication focusing on layout design and illustrating covers.

“Nuestra Ofrenda” is a mural Roberto created to promote Organ Donation among the LatinX and Hispanic communities. Local Color drove this project and is available at Higher Fire, a local ceramic studio honoring the lives of two teenagers who made history by the number of organs and tissue donated by teens. Visit the mural on Market and William Street in San José, California.

Roberto is a proud and active member of Together We Create, “TWC,” a local artist collaborative of four Muralists named San José’s Creative Ambassadors for 2023 to incorporate the community in public murals in a series of nine performances throughout the year. TWC has allowed Roberto to bring a rich cultural experience to the residents of the Bay Area and will continue to do so for many years.
